Chinese Burns Unit / Amateur Drunks split LP

Classic split from 2015 on opaque cobalt blue vinyl, released on  Consume Records / Bluish Greenish Records. CBU features Glenno Smith from Lawnsmell & Hellebores, Jay from Frenzal Rhomb, Jonny Optional and John Irish from Crux & Canine. Amateur Drunks features Edo from Obat Batuk, Exit Mould and Evan from Obat Batuk, Whopping Big Naughty and Mishu from Suppressant. 

"This set of songs were the first load of songs we ever demo-ed before we were to play our first set April 16 2010 at the Sando with NUNBAIT and the HARD-ONS! We rehearsed in the Grand Fatal Lodge in Leichhardt and did most of the recording there in one, maybe two goes, sometime in Septvembernerr 2009? We'd had a few rehearsals and it was very, very fresh. Jay and myself had been demo-ing and writing stuff a year or two before this, so the songs were pretty much written, but when it came to playing it as a band it was very exciting and this demo is what happened in those earlier sessions. Some songs made it to the first album, some were only played live a few times and one wasn't attempted at all. Jay wrote 'Swimming Lesson Trauma' (and played all the instruments except drums on that one), 'Your Inner Child's Been Prescribed Dexamphetamines' and we wrote 'Grind in the Shards' together. All the rest I wrote. 'Believe' is a song I wrote in the very last months of the LAWNSMELL years and was never recorded but was played live a few times
